If you’re reading this, you’ve found the beginning of something that has been growing in my heart and imagination for years.
Welcome to Scorpion Butterfly Publications—and welcome to the Village of Honeycomb.
People often see a finished book and imagine that it appeared overnight. The truth is, SistaGirlz has been years in the making.
Long before I designed a website or uploaded my first product, I was building a world.
I created the Village of Honeycomb, a community where transparency is valued, relationships are complex, families are chosen as much as they are born, and every child knows they belong. Honeycomb isn’t a fantasy kingdom or a faraway planet. It’s an urban fairy tale—a place that reflects both the beauty and the challenges of real life while asking, “What if a community truly committed to caring for one another?”
From that question grew generations of families, lifelong friendships, traditions, schools, businesses, celebrations, heartbreaks, romances, triumphs, and countless stories waiting to be told.
Over the years, I’ve developed:
- A multi-generational timeline spanning decades of Honeycomb history.
- Hundreds of interconnected characters with their own families, friendships, and life stories.
- The Honeycomb School District and the educational philosophy that shapes its children.
- Annual traditions like CELEBRATION, community gatherings, and neighborhood events.
- Family trees, relationship histories, businesses, landmarks, and institutions that make Honeycomb feel like a living community.
- The SistaGirlz series, following remarkable women whose lives are woven together by friendship, love, resilience, and growth.
- Companion materials that help readers dive even deeper into the world beyond the novels.
Every decision—from a character’s birthday to the layout of a neighborhood street—has been made with care because I want Honeycomb to feel like a place you could actually visit.
Scorpion Butterfly Publications was created to give these stories a home.
This website is more than a bookstore. It’s where you’ll find new releases, behind-the-scenes updates, companion guides, and a front-row seat as Honeycomb continues to grow. Whether you’re discovering these stories for the first time or following the journey from the very beginning, I’m grateful you’re here.
Over the coming weeks and months, I’ll be sharing more about my writing process, the inspiration behind the characters, the history of Honeycomb, and the work that goes into bringing each book to life.
The first stop on that journey is RACHAEL — Book One, but it’s only the beginning.
